Authorities in Virginia say that former NBA player Delonte West was arrested on Thursday for resisting arrest and violating conditions of release.
Both charges are misdemeanors.
West, 40, is set to be arraigned Friday morning after being held on a $2,000 bond at Fairfax County Detention Center.
Police say that they found West at 1 a.m. on Thursday morning in Groveton, Virginia, as they attempted to serve him a warrant, but West fled the scene. After a short pursuit, West was found unresponsive.
According to ESPN.com, officers administered West the drug Narcan, used to treat opioid overdoses. West was then transported to the hospital after the first dose of Narcan did not work. A second dose was later given, and then West was transported to jail.
West was previously arrested in October 2022 in Fairfax County after witnesses said he tried to enter a vehicle that did not belong to him and was booked on charges of vehicle trespassing, entering a vehicle, fleeing from law enforcement, and public intoxication.
West played eight seasons in the NBA with the Boston Celtics, Seattle SuperSonics, Cleveland Cavaliers and Dallas Mavericks.
